Trademarks, Etc. began operations in March, 1997. I created the company after a very ordinary afternoon during Christmas time of 1996.

Sitting in a movie theater enjoying the very popular film, Jerry Maguire, a light when off in my head during the scene when Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding, Jr. were yelling "Show Me The Money" at each other. I felt this was going to be a big catch phrase so I rushed out of the theater to apply for a clothing trademark under the Show Me The Money phrase.

Low and behold I was right as 26 other applicants applied for this phrase after I did. One of the applicants was TriStar Pictures who made the film. After several weeks of negotiating and being granted a trademark by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office, I assigned my trademark rights to TriStar Pictures. TriStar Pictures did indeed show me the money.

Prior to this day, I did have extensive experience with trademarks as I am an entrepreneur at heart. Thus, the idea to form Trademarks, Etc. became a reality. Our goal has been simple, to offer and maintain an affordable service where entrepreneurs and businesses around the country can protect their names, logos, and slogans through trademarks.
